WHAT WE BELIEVE

Do you feel like all you ever hear about these days

is bad news?

Seriously, What's going on in this world? It seems as if every time we jump on social media or listen to the news, we see wrong and suffering. It's exhausting! Well, we want to encourage you today with some really good news—you can have a real relationship with God and purpose in this life, and know that Heaven will one day be your home!

God knows who you are and loves you.

Did you know that God loves you? Take a moment to really think about that statement—God loves you. Regardless of race, age, background, past failures, or any aspect of your life, He deeply cares about you and is personally aware of all that is going on in your life. In short, God has an incredible love for you and wants more than anything else to have a genuine, personal relationship with you that can last forever.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

Sin has separated you from God.

You have a problem; in fact, we all have it. We have broken God's commands. The Bible calls this sin. In Romans 3:23, it specifically says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Have you ever lied, stolen, or had a mean thought? These actions break the commands of God and are sin. Looking honestly into our own hearts, the truth is revealed - we all have committed sin. And sin has a devastating consequence—eternal separation from God, which the Bible refers to as spiritual death.

"For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23

Good works cannot earn you a home in Heaven with God.

No amount of morality or good deeds can bridge the gap to God. Man's shortcomings are not behavior problems, they are sinful heart problems. Most people think if they join a church or get baptized or do enough good things in their life, eventually it will earn them a home in Heaven with God. But Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." No matter how hard we try, we will never reach perfection or earn our way back to God. This is why God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to be our Savior, our rescuer!

Jesus Christ is the only way to know God.

Jesus Christ is just as much God as God the Father is, yet He came to Earth and lived a human life. Jesus faced all the human trials and temptations but never sinned. He chose to die on the cross, having done nothing wrong. He sacrificed His life and died instead of us, paying the debt of our sins. Three days later, He rose from the dead, proving to all that He truly was God. Jesus died to rescue us.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

You must place your faith in Jesus Christ & accept Him as your personal Savior.

God wants a relationship with you, but this is only possible through His Son, Jesus Christ. He wants to be your personal Savior and rescue you from the penalty of your sinfulness. He already paid the debt of all your sin, and all you must do is accept that gift from Him. Romans 6:23 says, "...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Today, will you choose to believe in Christ as the only way to Heaven and accept Him as your own Savior? Right now, pray and ask God to forgive you of your sin and save you!

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
